KEMONO FRIENDS launches the LGBTQ reading service
The Digital Producer 8million Studio (behind Kemono Friends) announced that a LGBTQ sensitivity reading service will be in production. The initial production of the service was at the beginning of last week. As of today, the debate + LGBTQ service will provide comments from other members and LGBTQ allies to customers. This happens before the product is finalized and launch.
The final product will provide two forms of feedback: surveys for those who want to collect views and group interviews for those who want deeper discussions about the content. 8Million will also moderate an online seminar entitled How to address marketing in a diverse society on August 30.
In a press release, 8million highlighted the need for consultancy. While the word diversity is becoming common in Japan, it has not been widely disseminated in society. There are many incidents related to harassment, many of which are unconscious actions or ignorance without malice. 8Million has created a service to help close the gap between the two. The service is also cooperating with LGBTQ YouTuber Kazue-chan.
The channel of it provides information about LGBTQ problems in Japan. The company plans to continue producing anime, as well as participating in audio production. The management of voice actors, the realization of online halls for the creators of YouTube, the offer of management consulting and collaboration with the CG studies based in Dalian is also a goal of the company.
Love for Kemono's friends
8million Studio produced for the first time the first season of the Anime Kemono Friends in 2017. They also produced the Kemurikusa series in 2019.
The great success of the 2017 winter season was Kemono Friends. However, there were many things against anime production. At first, ten people staff worked for 500 days with a reduced budget. To comply with the deadlines, cost reduction measures became so bad that restrictive measures were taken in alleged mobile parts.
Kemono Friends tells the story of Japari Park. A mysterious substance makes the zoo animals become humanoid beings called animal girls. After a while, a child appears lost in the park and must get help from the Girls animal to find the way home.
