Criterion Games is back at the Need for Speed steering wheel

EA confirmed that the development of the future of speed fields will be returned to the previous development team behind the series, Criterion Software, taking over from the current Ghost Games developer.

The speed of speed is in the hands of the Ghost Games of Gothenburg, in Sweden, since 2013. Engrain: rivals, and the studio has supervised the development of the franchise through its restart in 2015, recourse and last year chant. All games received fairly warm receptions from fans and critics, and EA admitted that this decision had been made due to problems to attract studio talents.

Need Criterion, which created the burnout franchise and the render ware engine widely used in the PS2 game generation, have developed the two previous games to those produced by Ghost Games: Course 2 from 2010 and The more sought after since 2012. With the Studio based in Guilford, just outside London, the ability to attract talents is less a problem for the studio.

Criterion was initially divided to be part of Ghost Games, and members on the British side of Ghost Games should come back under the control of Criterion.

The developer has since supported other EA titles rather than developing their own titles, with a work product for Star Wars Battlefront II and BATTLEFIELD V. They are also deprived of the founders of the studio, Alex Ward and Fiona Sperry, who left after the split to join Ghost Games.

Ghost Games will now be transformed into a studio based on engineering that will support other EA projects, although EA has confirmed that roles could be threatened within the studio.

With the disappearance of the two founding members of Criterion, if it will bring the quality level at the speed of the series that Ea Search remains to be seen, but a studio with the pedigree of Criterion could certainly help with all the new titles that EA has planned.
