Confusion about contacts - why the corona warning
The infection numbers in Germany rise again. The Robert Koch Institut registered almost 300,000 corona new infections within 24 hours. The incidence climbed on Friday morning to 1706.3. In more and more cases, the Corona Warn app can provide information about a possible infection. Who had a risk contract, gets a red warning displayed in the app.

The so-called "red tile" appears when users have come into contact with a positively tested person for a long period of at least 15 minutes. Was the contact with the person only of short-term duration or with a greater distance, the app speaks of a "low risk". Background is that by a large distance and a small time window, it has probably not insisted any increased risk of infection.
However, the red warning also appears when sufferers with several "low" risk contacts had. These are then bundled into an "increased risk". Reason? The red warning no longer appears in a single encounter, but also in total risk minutes per day. That could cause confusion with some users. Especially if those affected are particularly mindful and reduced contacts due to increasing infection numbers.
- Case study: When users go shopping in the weekly market and meet several positively tested persons at a short time and with a great distance. Before the update, the visit would have resulted in a "low risk assessment". Recently, the tile colors red.
